BC Kyiv defeated MBC Mykolaiv 86:68 to claim their 8th consecutive win in the Ukrainian Superleague.
Kyiv put pressure on Mykolaiv's guard Alexander Rayevskiy right from the start of the contest, limiting the home side to just 2 scored points during the first 4 minutes of the contest. That was enough for the visitors to finish the 1st quarter up by 5.
Mykolaiv managed to even up the game during the second quarter, heading into the half time break down by 6.
Kyiv went on to outscore the opponents 23:13 during the 3rd quarter. Manuchar Markoishvili, who finished the game with 27 points, led the way with 8 during the stretch. Artur Drozdov and Joshua Davis scored 15 and 14 points respectively, while Viacheslav Kravtsov added a double-double: 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Mykolaiv's Alexander Rayevskiy had a team-high 17 points.
Meanwhile Kyiv's farm team lost to Mykolaiv's youngsters 93:70, ending their 6-game winning streak. Kyiv started the game with a 7:2 run, but Mykolaiv bounced back and finished the 1st quarter up by 2. Carried by the momentum and their red-hot 3-point
shooting the home-side extended the lead to 12 by halftime.
Kyiv's guard Andrei Lebedintsev got the team back in the game after hitting three back-to-back 3's reducing the margin to just 4 points, but that was as close as the visitors managed to get. Mykolaiv won the 4th quarter 22:6, claiming their 7th win in 8 games.
Kyiv's Vladislav Podolian finished the game with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Mykolaiv's Maksym Shepil had 29 and 12 rebounds.
