Both teams were chasing one another throughout the entire game. The first quarter ended 23:23, the home side had a 6 points cushion at halftime, but the visitors came back to tie things up at 63 at the end of 3rd.
Kyiv got hot during the final 10 minutes, outscoring their opponents 32:20. Pooh Jeter was unstoppable, draining 19 out of his game-high 23 points in the quarter.
The home side got balanced production from Jeter’s teammates: 3 of them (Markoishvili, Faison and Davis) scored 12 apiece, Jacks added 11 and Drozdov contributed with 10.
Lviv’s Pavel Uljanko had team-high 18 points.
Valentin Voronin, BC Politekhnika head coach:
“I am satisfied with how my team played today. Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to contain Jeter, despite talking about the threat he poses”.
Tomo Mahoric, BC Kyiv head coach:
“Politekhnika is a very strong team and I was slightly concerned about the outcome of this match. Add to it the fact that the imports are heading home for Christmas tomorrow – I was afraid that would not be concentrated on basketball. Luckily that did not happen and I am glad we managed to stay calm and control the flow of the game in the 4th quarter”.
Pooh Jeter, BC Kyiv guard:
“I have to thank my teammates for creating every opportunity for me to score. I hope that the vacation we are about to have will allow us to recharge the batteries and start the second half of the season fresh”.
