Markoishvili scored team-high 20 points, Artur Drozdov added 19, Josh Davis contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds.
Sumy’s Oleg Kojenets had 23 points.
“I was glad to see my team perform the way the did during the first quarter”, said Kyiv’s head coach Tomo Mahoric after the game, “but I was also dissatisfied with the players’ effort in the second. We lost concentration and allowed Sumy to play the way they wanted. Still, we improved our game after the break, paid more attention to their center Kojenents and started to control the boards”
Meanwhile, Kyiv’s farm team cruised past Sumy’s youngsters 115:61.
Led by Ruslan Otverchenko (24 points) and Vladyslav Podolian (23 points), Kyiv was ahead by as many as 60 points during the final quarter.
