28.01.2008 Vitaliy Khomenko and Tomo Mahoric about the ULEB Cup draw results
BC Kyiv’s general manager Vitaliy Khomenko, who attended the ULEB Cup Draw in Barcelona, during which it was determined BC Kyiv will face Telindus Oostende in the elimination round, commented on its results to the team’s official web site:
“This is not the most difficult opponent we could have received”, Khomenko said. “Still, we will be getting ready for a tough battle as there are no easy matchups at this stage. Telindus has been playing very well lately, both in the ULEB Cup and in the domestic league.
“We, however, are still expecting to be at the Top 8 and will do everything it takes to get there”.
“Some people think we got lucky during the draw”, said Kyiv’s head coach Tomo Mahoric. “Believe me, Telindus is a very strong team. They came second in a very difficult group, leaving behind Zrvena Zvezda and Fortitudo. They have an experienced coach who already won the ULEB Cup”.
