BC Kyiv defeated Russian side Triumph 83:71 to draw a line in their Slovenian voyage.
Kyiv was trying to feed the ball down low at the start of the game, which boosted their offensive production. Defensively the Ukrainian side did not look as tough as usual and the game was and Ryan Stack and Artur Drozdov had to intensify their efforts. This led to a 22:16 and later a 33:28 first quarter Kyiv lead.
Pooh Jeter, Marcus Faison and Marko Maravic extended the margin to 8 with 2 minutes to go in the second quarter, but Triumph managed to regroup and cut the lead to 2 after scoring two treys during the last 20 seconds.
The game was tied at 56 in the third quarter, after which Kyiv grabbed the bull by the horns and never allowed the opponents to get back. Drozdov and Mijatovic fired a few from downtown to give Kyiv an 11-point advantage.
Kyiv had no difficulty holding on to the lead, claiming their second friendly win in Slovenia.
