25.10.2008 Kyiv march on
BC Kyiv claimed their 4th straight Superleague victory in a 77:60 rout of BC Poltava.
The league’s newcomers had a confident start to the contest, finishing the first frame up by four. Kyiv looked relaxed in the period, allowing their opponents to take second and third chances. They regrouped in the second stanza, catching up with Poltava midway through the quarter. A 10:2 run that followed allowed Kyiv to enter the half-time break up by nine.
Oleg Saltovets, Kyiv’s veteran forward, was dominant in the third quarter. In less than five minutes he scored six points and added three rebounds. He also made sure Poltava’s offense was limited to just 10 points.
Both teams slowed down in the final frame, which was enough for Kyiv to maintain a comfortable margin.
Kenan Bajramovic top-scored with 18 points for the winners.
Rolandas Jarutis and Gitis Seratavicus both had 16 in their team’s losing effort.
