Ukraine suffered the first defeat in the 2009 EuroBasket Relegation Round. They fell short against Hungary 67:91 in Szombathely.

The visitors trailed by just three points at halftime but could keep up the pace in the second half. Hungary stepped on the gas and raced to a comfortable 24-point victory at the end.

Oleksiy Pecherov scored 17 points for Ukraine. Kyrylo Fesenko knocked down 13 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in the losing effort.

Ukraine will next take on Estonia at home on Saturday.
