24.02.2010 BC Kyiv earn a confident home victory over Ferro
Even without injured Viacheslav Kravtsov BC Kyiv outscored visiting Ferro-ZNTU to improve at 11-6 record in Ukrainian Superleague. In the meantime Ferro suffered just the third loss in the regular season and slipped at 14-3 record. Maksym Pustozvonov exploded with 27 points for the winners while Denys Lukashov added 18. Charles Thomas produced 22 points in defeat.
Both teams were pretty good offensively in the first quarter. Thanks to impressive 12-3 run in the middle of this period BC Kyiv grab the lead 28:21.
Using zone press and zone defense the hosts jumped to 53:31 half-time lead. Ferro shined after the breather and mostly owing to Charles Thomas cut the margin just to 12 points. But Denys Lukashov closed third quarter with nice “and one” heading BC Kyiv to the last ten minutes with decent lead 74:59.
Dmytro Briantsev scored, Artem Shvets followed with a seven-meter bomb and Dmytro Zabirchenko together with Maksym Pustozvonov closed a great run for BC Kyiv, who jumped to 82:63. There was still a lot to play, but it was clear that Ferro will not have a chance. At the end, it was totally deserved 93:76 win for the Vitaliy Cherniy’s team.
